Postdoctoral Fellowship in Botany/Plant Biology
The Botany Department at UW-Madison seeks a talented botanist or plant biologist who will conduct postdoctoral research in the department under the mentorship of a sponsoring faculty member and a mentoring committee. The goal of the Dr. Mary M. Taylor Vinje Fellowship is to attract and train talented postdocs who would bring diversity (broadly defined) to the botanical sciences. We especially seek applicants identified as targeted minority groups underrepresented in higher education by the University of Wisconsin. Promising researchers are invited to apply who have completed their PhD degree no earlier than 2021 or will have completed their degrees by the proposed start of the fellowship, which should be in 2023. Fellows will be appointed for one year (renewable to two years) with a salary of $56,000 plus fringes and $6,000 for research/travel expenditures/year. Applications require a CV, a personal statement summarizing prior research, proposed research, and a summary of life experiences that would bring new perspectives to the department and field, three letters of reference, and a letter from a faculty member of the Botany department who would serve as host and provide any needed research infrastructure.
