Habitat:  Small pocket of upland southern sedge meadow (Carex stricta dominant) in sump of spring trickle. Assoc.: Calamagrostis canadensis, Caltha palustris, Eutrochium maculatum, Salix eriocephala, Spartina pectinata, and Typha latifolia.
 
Text:  Sprouts, forming many-stemmed clump, 58--72 in. (parent stems cut off); pistillate.
