Rich woods, with Celtis occidentalis and Quercus muhlenbergii, the shrub layer with Dirca palustris and Staphylea trifolia,the groung layer with Carex blanda, Arisaema triphyllum, Dicentra cucullaria, Hydrophyllum virginianum, Impatiens pallida, Parthenocissus inserta and Mertensia virginica. |

Two shrubs seen, 1.5-2.0 meters tall, 4-5 cm in diameter stems at base (largest individuals of this species I've seen in WI).
