Rich acer saccharum, Tilia, Quercus borealis woods with limestone cliffs and boulders. Additional field notes for #2806-2817: This is a very rich ungrazed Acer saccharum-Tilia americana on a moderate slope, with some Juglans nigra and Carya cordiformis near the bottom and Quercus borealis near the top. There is a 20 ft. high limestone cliff near the top of the slope and other outcrops and boulders also occur. Trees are in the 10-20" range, with the larger trees at cliff base. |
