Habitat:  Dry-mesic prairie on elongate, N-S trending hill of unconsolidated glacial drift (drumlin); E-facing slope; stony sandy loam. Assoc.: Poa compressa (dominant)-Schizachyrium scoparium (subdominant), Poa pratensis locally dominant in small areas, with Bouteloua curtipendula, Panicum oligosanthes var. scribnerianum, Melilotus alba, Rhus glabra, Lithospermum canescens, Viola pedata, Aster pilosus, Centaurea biebersteinii, Erigeron strigosus, and Solidago speciosa; (Geum triflorum, Dodecatheon meadia,
